The Legend

Seeing bull elk during the fall rut is always an incredible experience but being in the presence of a legendary bull takes it to another level entirely. This well-known bull had many names, but to me and many others, he was simply known as the Big Kahuna. This name, coined by a friend and fellow wildlife photographer, perfectly captured the essence of this magnificent animal. He was the epitome of his species, the paragon of strength and stature, for those who made the journey to Rocky Mountain National Park each fall to witness him. Although he's no longer with us, his legacy lives on in the memories of those who were fortunate enough to see him and through the beautiful photographs that celebrate his legacy.
