Strength and Elegance

There is a timeless power in the presence of a bald eagle, and observing this one was truly a privilege. During a trip to the Pacific Northwest, I spent several days watching in awe as eagles gracefully glided over a lake surrounded by mountains speckled with autumn color. I watched them dive with incredible precision, snatching salmon from the water before returning to perch along the shoreline. On one of those evenings, as the sun began to set behind the mountain peaks and covered the scene in golden light, my subject paused from the hunt to perch on a nearby branch. In that fleeting, quiet moment, I was able to capture a portrait that embodies both the eagle’s raw strength and its elegant presence—a reminder of the wild’s enduring majesty and the rare privilege of witnessing it up close.
