Peek-A-Boo

Some wildlife encounters are just downright fun, and this was definitely one of them. I captured this image of a great gray owl playing a little game of peek-a-boo with me during a recent trip to Yellowstone National Park. A good friend and I were carefully following the owl as it hunted, and after it landed on a branch, I quietly moved around the trunk of the tree. That’s when I caught this moment, as it peeked around to cautiously check me out, curious and watchful, just like I was toward it.
