This unforgettable moment unfolded during a late-night photo session during Midsummer on a trip to Eastern Finland in search of brown bears. In Finnish culture, the brown bear - known as Otso, Karhu, or Mesikämmen (“King of the Forest”) - holds deep reverence and mythical significance to the people of Finland. To quietly observe and photograph this beautiful sow in her natural habitat was a profound and moving experience, one that honored both the spirit of the land and the majesty of this iconic species.
