After the Rain

Capturing wildlife in the elements is always an exhilarating experience for me. Whether it's snow, rain, ice, or fog, I love venturing out and finding different ways to portray my subjects in their natural environment. On a cool, rainy fall trip to Yellowstone, I encountered an elusive great gray owl, braving the weather as it hunted for prey. I managed to capture this shot after following it into a dark, wet stand of conifer trees, waiting for the perfect moment when it positioned itself in just enough light to create this stunning photo.
