To me, this photo is a perfect example of how a vibrant background can elevate an already captivating subject. I was thrilled to photograph this stunning red morph screech owl near my home in Colorado as it hunted in the warm light of a spring afternoon. The golden hues of the sunlit foliage behind it beautifully echo the rich, reddish-brown tones of the owl’s plumage, creating a striking harmony between subject and setting that made this moment truly special.
